Past Hurricane strikes

I'm sure Tom (Coldfront) has posted this in the past, but as a reminder, there have been NO MAJOR HURRICANES that have struck the states of MD, DE or NJ. :o

That's true Stephanie....if Isabel makes it that far north as a cat-3...as both NHC and I believe, it will be a a first for those states..

Also, the last major hurricane to strike Virginia was the September 1944 hurricane (although Hazel in 1954 produced 120 mph gusts at Cape Henry, VA even though it passed well west of the area).
