"Very Small Hail". Is this a season of the unusual or what?

That is very unusual considering the warm core nature of hurricanes. It also shows just how violent the updrafts and the storm really is.

On the fringe

That particular observation seems to be on the fringe as well.

The flight level temp was 7 degrees at 10,000 feet at the same time.

Absolutely amazing.
