150Kt flight level winds in NE quadrant, what does that translate to onto the surface?

Back to 933! Incredible resistance to weaken. This storm is rewriting the record books, or at least conventional thinking.

To convert 150kts at FL 10,000 ft to the surface, multiply by .9 (90%). You get 135 kts or about 155 mph. But this first observation is just from one pass, there may be higher winds round the center.

that would translate to over 135 knots at the surface. It's probably close to a cat 5 again. Even stronger than this morning

So basically Isabel's winds haven't increased...yet. But with this drop in pressure...will she be able to make it to cat5 one last time?

If I'm reading this correctly she is almost .3 degrees south of her position at 11 a.m. .

Intensifying...and about to cross into waters that are even warmer....84-85°...

We could see this hurricane at it's most intense around 25-26N and 70-71W...and 150 kts (170-175 mph) and 915 mb won't surprise me.
