I just found this board yesterday and am already addicted! We are located at the top of the Chesapeake Bay where it meets the Susquehanna River. Does anyone recall Agnes? The Conowingo Dam almost ruptured then so we are pretty concerned about that. Anyone have a guess on how much rain we may get? We just went & got supplies so we should have beat the rush.

I live just down the road from you in north central Maryland. If you know the Essex/Dundalk area just east of Baltimore City, that's the area I'm talking about. I'm watching Isabel carefully down here!!! Looks ominous for Thursday!!

I hope you didn't go and get a bunch of duct tape for your windows. Taping of windows is pretty much a waste of time. Use good quality shutters instead. There's also a clear film which can be applied to glass which strengthens it considerably but that requiers professional installation and it's too late for that option as far as Isabel is concerned.

If you don't think that your property will be able to weather the storm, start evacuating ASAP after officials tell you to do so.

I hope everything turns out okay in the end.
