i am new hear and i am wondering what you all think of a Long Island hit? I love in SE Connecticut and havent been in a hurrincane since hurricane Bob back in 91. I know that the models are saying a delmarva hit but i think that it is going to move more NNW or N. This is just a guess, im relativly new to this stuff. Any opinions. Thanks

*preface, necessary in these tense times*
I am not a professional I do not clain to be one- I do not ever intend to be one. Do not act on my words as though they were from a professional.
ANYWAYS- I'd say- stock up on your hurricane supplies just in case- but I suspect that she'll be further south than you. Untill the models are pointing rirght at you- it's a good idea to be prepared- watch it... but dont' panic and trust the professionals.

Welcome to Storm2k, Daisy25. Keep a vigilant watch on Isabel. Connecticut could possibly see some rough conditions in regards to Isabel. Since the exact landfall point is relatively unknown at this point and the model guidance are well within the window of Connecticut, just don't let your guard down and make some preparations just in case. Follow your local NWS (National Weather Service) as well for information as well.

Long Island
My thinking is that the turn northward has a better chance of being later than earlier. This would mean a better chance that the track may be adjusted farther south, away from Long Island. But when a storm is moving nearly parallel to a coastline, as Isabel will, only a tiny deviation right or left can make the difference between North Carolina and Long Island. So stay alert!
