CNN Interview with Max Mayfield: Very concerned

#1 Postby rob8303 » Sun Sep 14, 2003 6:59 pm

Around the end of their next@cnn show, CNN's Miami Bureau Chief John Zarella had an interview with NHC Director Max Mayfield. It began with this quote from Zarella: "I've known you for a lot of years and I've never seen you this concerned about a storm.
Mayfield:"While this storm has the potential for LARGE loss of life and people up and down the east coast need to be prepared. Now, I want you to listen very carefully to what I have to say..." and he went on to give the details we already know.
Is that typical of Mayfield to be so blunt and ominous?
But Why's mayfield worried when he have stormchaser16 saying the storm is falling apart. Just kidding.

Stupidity of people + a hurricane will always amount to a large loss of life.

Those who are prepared will be fine. Those who aren't..well not much of a loss anyhow :)

Experience is the best teacher..For those in the Mid Atlantic States we're in pre school. So for those of you in the Southern States don't say "JEEZ YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN. " BECAUSE WE DON'T

Hoping the learning curve isn't steep Susan

I remember the night before Lili Max Mayfield called our local met and urged him to tell everyone in the coastal parishes to get out because he was so concerned about the unbelievable storm surge predicted. Just goes to show that they really do care.
