Looking offshore you can see huge swells of ocean water. That must be where it hits the reef. Is it a possibility that Gonzalo will damage the reef?

Re: ATL: GONZALO - Hurricane - Discussion
Storm structure still intact. May have even tightened slightly. Definitely no loss in strength.
This rain slack is probably the break between the first band and next stronger one.

It looks on satellite that the eye will go directly over where this cam is located...probably in the next couple of hours if not sooner

He is a little further inland...and hopefully a little more protected. (I looked at the google map marker next to the cam)

Those of you on Bermuda, I'm finding any and all updates coming from those of you still having the ability (and time) to report and update conditions there, totally riveting.
Stay wary of the slowly changing orientation of the winds with the advancing & passing of the storm. It is that one veering change that you'll be able to count on during all of the howling madness. Always remember, avoid those rooms with lots of glass and windows (hallways and interior bathrooms are often safest), avoid elevators - the power will go out, and just a matter of time. If you havn't already, throw those I.D.'s, Passports, birth certificates, and other important papers in some heavy duty zip lock bag and keep that in the safest place possible. Keep any cell phones & extra batteries charging as long as you can, because at some point you likely wont be able too.
Most important, good luck and STAY SAFE!!

Must be sporadic power outages happening. Weather stations are going down one by one. One of the stations had a wind gust to 63mph before it stopped reporting.
