One thing the webcam proves is that tropical storm force winds sure pack a punch. Many shrug them off, but standing out in that is still VERY dangerous...

Go to the first post of the sticky thread at the top of the forum so you can see two cams and the radar. One of the cams was provided by a member in Bermuda.

Got it, thanks Luis. Seems that both cams are still working, though an obvious lag seems to be happening with the BDA cam; WOOPS?! "SCRATCH THAT" - looks like BDA cam is down, and total white out on the other. Getting nasty there.

Yes, that camera is showing some pretty nasty conditions! But that's just the start of it. Think of it like this...using the Beaufort Scale and NWS warnings...wind GUSTS of 32 to 38 mph will cause whole trees to go in motion. Wind gusts of 39 to 54 mph will take down twigs, sticks and small limbs. 58 mph and greater wind gusts is the threshold for damage to buildings and trees coming down (thus severe warnings start at 58 mph, or 50 knots). Those are just GUSTS, and that gust still has up to 16 mph before it becomes a "hurricane" level wind gust. Now imagine 40 mph sustained, with gusts to 60-70 mph. Yep, quite a bit of damage can be done! Nevermind the fact that the winds are long duration, and that lots of rainfall in recent days can loosen the soil, making it even easier for trees to topple over (especially shallow rooted trees).

Looking at the satellite loop, is it everyone else's perspective, that Gustavo's eye has significantly contracted over the recent couple of hours? Seems to me that it has. Other "eyeball" observation is, to me its looking like the center of the eye might possibly pass very very barely to the islands east, thus leaving Bermuda under eyewall conditions for perhaps a slightly longer period of time, rather than if the eye were to pass directly over? Granted, no doubt there's may well be a couple of track ziggs and zaggs, but not much.

thanks 'sun :) Your right about that! I just can't imagine that this cam will be functioning through the worst of it; i'd guess it'll go down within an hour or so.

The webcam is moving around (panning) and showed some different scenes. I noticed this river and just these jolts of energy rushing up like a bullet wave every 2 seconds...did anyone see that?

Radar gives the best view of the eye structure which is nearly annular right now. The core is just a thin well defined band around the eye. There are other bands that stretch out from there which makes me think the strength is split between them.
