Looks like a decent rainfall event ended up happening here in the Red River Valley today.
Steve LaNore, the KXII Channel 12 TV met, said tonight that 1.29 inches of rain fell in Denison/Sherman. Thirty miles to the west, 1.67 inches of rain fell in Gainesville. Up in southern Oklahoma, 1.80 inches of rain fell in Ardmore.
Not a Lake Texoma filler-up special, but it helps.
Now for the cold air that is coming...

Good morning fellow Texans. Still a nice blob of rain over a good portion of Texas. It is not over yet. Just took a quick glance at some of the maps from Bastardi/Maue and they are insane with the cold for mid November. Let's hope we can get some moisture with these fronts. A November snowfall would be really cool.

I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum. When I joined several years ago, I was just a teenager who was really excited about snow. And now years later I am still really excited about snow, but I am also (with the help of some you smarter folks on here) able to accurately predict the weather. It's to the point now where friends and family members will watch the news, and then will call me to see if I agree with what they say.

These forums are a great learning tool and it is fun to be the trusted source for friends and family.

Hey gang ... we're glad you're here and learning and participating! We ALL learn on this forum regardless of where we may lie on the weather knowledge meter.
Meanwhile, 1.7" of liquid gold at the PWC in the last 24 hours as light rains continue to fall. Love it!

Just an observation, not a forecast:
The latest 12Z GFS is showing some light snow across central and northern Oklahoma Wednesday night into Thursday. It looks like a little disturbance rounds the base of the trough during that time frame, sparking some light snow showers.

The 12Z parallel GFS has a stripe of light snow across and near the I-20 Corridor during this timeframe. Snow does drop rather far S into the Plains as well. And a lot of snow accumulates across most of Canada as the pattern change unfolds. Extra tropical storm Nuri near the Bering Sea certainly appears to deliver a significant pattern change for Mid November.

Dolly was closest but it mostly stayed in Bay of Campeche. But where does the BoC end and the GoM start?

1976 9th of November is the closest analog for 6 to 10 days.
