Steve Lyons=Isabel is reorganizing like a classic hurricane
Lyons said that it is reorganizing from the annular type to a more classic hurricane and that proccess is underway.
Please dont be fooled those who live in the east coast as you haved seen weakening because it will begin to speed up as it makes landfall and that is my worrie..

YEA but
still a dangerous hurricane is possible!!! The wind fields maybe smaller given the smaller eye. But there is still dangers also!! I agree on the reorganization as the trough to the northwest of isabel lifts quickly north being replaced by a ridge of high pressure. Thus less shear and the warm gulf stream waters to result in restrengthening. I think that restrengthening will occur before landfall. I don't see a category 5 hurricane, but a strong cat 3 or minimal cat 4 hurricane cannot be ruled out here!!!

Steve's a good guy...he was a prof at A&M when I was there. It's killing him right now that he can't go catch some of those waves off the Georgia coast and if he IS lurking...he knows I'm right since the only reason he ever got into weather to begin with was to know where the surf would be up...and that is the honest truth.
Hey Steve...I hear they are tubing at 10'!

Steve is brilliant. He is unfortunately in a position of not being as old as John Hope was and can't get away with speaking his mind against the hurricane center when he thinks they are wrong...he has to tow the party line some. TWC has cracked down on that a lot due to liability i believe. NHC didn't even want them to update the recon pressures outside of the official advisories but they wouldn't go for that.
I do have to say that Steve did a good job with Grace bucking the NHC. Some may remember...especially those in the chat room...that I was screaming at the NHC placement of Grace and the fact the did not mention her reforming to the north even though you could see it in the sfc obs. Of course...it really didn't matter because we've had stronger sea breezes
Anyway...the NHC said it was down near Palacious...Steve said it was near GLs where it really was.
