I have learned so much reading here. I definitely won't be offering any weather tips but I may occasionally post a picture or temperature reading from southern Grayson county if that will help. Again, thank you for all everyone contributes to those of us amateur weather lovers!

Great pic! You got a solid dusting it seems. Lets see if we can get you some more ;)

I'm jealous of that 4" Oklahoma City got... But it's a good start... especially since I worked all day(I'm not making a habit of that during snow setups lol) also the earliest snowfall I remember(beating last year by 11 days in Alabama). I keep thinking about what happened later in the winter in Alabama lol

Morning all. It was nice to see snow considering it is mid November. What an amazing pattern for this time of year. With days still getting shorter and normals still dropping, a pattern like this in December could be a doozy. Looks like some good ole rain later this weekend is possible. I'll take it. Hope everyone saw some snow. Probably not the only time this season.

Very nice to see my NTX friends seeing a dusting of snow last night.

Its a cold breezy morning across SE TX with temps in the 30s inland and low 40s near the coast. Most areas seeing gusty N winds of 20-25MPH with 25-30MPH along the coast. Its very cold across NTX with temps in the low to mid 20s after last nights dusting of snow. Freeze Warnings will likely be required for portions of SE TX this afternoon. Inland areas of SE TX may see freezing temps Tuesday and Wednesday morning. Temps begin to warm Wednesday as the cold high pressure shifts E. Highs reaching the low 70s Thursday through the weekend however thunderstorm chances increase. Models are indicating the potential of a severe weather event next weekend across the Southern Plains but still to many days outs for any details.

23F at DFW airport. That's only 4 degrees from the all time November record. The US is 50% snow covered, which is the most on this date and probably the most this early since records started.

Generally speaking, a 1/4 inch - and in a spot or two around town, perhaps a 1/2 inch - of snowfall last night in Denison. Our low temperature reading this morning bottomed out at 21 degrees for our fifth freeze of the month and our lowest reading so far this fall season.

Beating a dead horse I suppose, but this is a morning worthy of mid-January.

And it's mid-November.

If we can get a good, potent winter storm threat the week of Thanksgiving, we might hit 100 pages here in the Texas Fall thread! :)

Got enough to make the roofs mostly white and to give the golf course a whitish color. You always have a storm to usher out an established weather pattern like we have been in. Looks like we will slowly warm up and maybe even get above average for a couple days with some rain and maybe some storms before our next cold shot for Thanksgiving week.

After today and tomorrow we'll have the rest of the week to moderate and warm up. Then the storm train gets going with split flow so enjoy the sunshine while you can. All guidance keep heights low in the SC US

We had a trace of snow in Heath, looked like Rockwall had a dusting on rooftops and cars this morning.

Looks like the models are showing a big time but very progressive front right before Thanksgiving. Will sure be watching to see what becomes of this. It does not seem to match the pattern we seem to be in this winter.

Gonna stir the pot here a bit, the analogs for 8 to 14 day forecast has some 1962 and 1989 years in them. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

1989 is pushing my memory limits  but it was cold, cold, and more cold. Cant remember if there was much if any precip but I do remember it being in the single digits in Baton Rouge.

1962 brought a good 4-6 inches of snow well into SE Texas in late January/early February, if I recall correctly. There are pictures of me up to my waste in the snow banks way down here in Houston from the Winter of 1962. December 1989 brought a severe Arctic outbreak on Christmas Eve that delivered temperatures into the single digits and teens to Coast. That outbreak ruined a lot of Christmas dinners as the water mains froze across Metro Houston and did destructive damage to agricultural interest all the way to Brownsville.

Both years had massive Arctic highs. The 8 to 14 day forecast isnt signaling anything special thoguh. I still think it is interesting to have those years present with that pattern though
