Woke to ice coated trees and a icy glazed on cars, everything else is just cold and wet.

Just checked in with a friend on mine in Lake worth, he said everything was ice coated and streets are slick. Seems worst part of Tarrant Co is from I-30 North & I-35 West.

I just took a short drive from my house in Richardson Heights to Central Market in Plano (Coit/Bush). When I turned on the car it was 33 with light rain. By the time I reached Coit/Arapaho, my car said it was 31. At the same spot on the return trip, it had dropped to 30, but ticked back up to 31 in my driveway. My weather station now says 32 temp / 31 dew point. There is some light ice forming in trees, but not enough to weigh down branches. The roads are wet but I didn't encounter any ice.

You are just skeptical, negative, and cynical.

West of I-35 might see some fun, not happening east of I-35, IMHO.

Ha. Yep, a cold rain.

33.2 right now and raining in Heath. I'll take the rain! Overnight low 32.4 at 7am.

Just a thin layer of ice on the trees here. Everything else is just a mess. Yuck! I don't think I'll be going outside too much today.

Hopefully we get a nice snowstorm this month. This cold rain has to be the most depressing weather.

Haa! Welcome to my world ...we're cold rain regulars here in Austin.

Happy New Years to everyone at Storm2K! Here's to less drought, more rain, and more snow in 2015!

34 and a cold rain here in Texarkana, which is good. A couple degrees lower and it would of have been a mess.

Of all the ice, snow, and winter mix we were expected to get overnight in Wichita county, we haven't seen a drop so far.

The winter storm warning for the San Angelo area was supposed to expire at noon today, but it is still 27 with ice coating everything and a new batch of precip on the way.

Happy New Year to all my fellow Storm2k members! May 2015 bring better weather to your delights than years past, just a chilly cold rain here this morning at the PWC North Texas branch. Hard to believe it's almost 5 years since my first full year here on the forums (snowmaggeddon) may we crank up that snow machine again soon!

1 or 2 degrees colder and this could have been an epic ice storm. The icicles are still growing here though.

Happy New Year to all!! We did dodge a major ice storm by just a couple degrees. That rain was very heavy at times and it was close to being all sleet. Cant we just get a huge snowstorm? Ok, now on to the next round of winter fun.

I wonder which parts of north (or northwest) Texas will see wintry precipitation this evening/overnight with the second batch of precipitation? The HRRR (at 15 hours) has the winds turning around back out of the north for north Texas; wonder if this will bring in some slightly cooler temperatures or lower dewpoints?
