21Z RAP shows the upper trough entering Central Texas with a batch of moderate rain moving though Central Texas tomorrow morning. Looking at its Skew-T for the Tyler area there should be some good snow falling but melting as it nears the ground so if we can hold surface temps in the mid 30s by late morning we could see a quick round of moderate snow.

Enjoy the brief warm up after this cold shot because, according to the latest Euro Weeklies, the entire state of Texas is below normal starting next Friday through the end of its run on Feb. 23rd!!! 
Almost 3 straight weeks of below normal temps continuing the trend of cold anomalies, now we just need a little more Arctic Air involved

Euro has low temps into the upper 20s from south TX through Houston and low 20s up in Dallas for Feb. 1st. Not cold enough for me, but it'll have to do.

I'm loving the wide spread 2.8 to 2.9 inches of rain all across the Austin area. We might push that up to 3 when all is said and done with this system but we'll see.

I consider this a huge win for you guys. Snow/ice would be nice, but 3" of liquid gold overrides that, at least to me, every single time.
We have clocked in with 1.24" total since yesterday. I don't expect more than 0.25" more

Driving back from CO on Saturday next week. We might not see snow fall while there until our drive back. Could be a long long drive back. Next weeks storm looks quite similar to the one going on right now. The storm going on now was seen by models over 10 days out. The one for next weekend has also been forecasted very far out. We shall see, but next week does look very interesting. The SJT has been a bit strong this year so its limiting much of the cold air from crashing down into the plains. Without it, we wouldn't have moisture though! All about timing. We need the cold air to be in place before the moisture arrives
