Still looks like snow or a rain snow mix this morning for me according to HRRR and RAP.

Darn! 00z Euro is about 20 degrees warmer across Texas for Super Bowl Weekend. Temps in the low 40s vs. low 20s for north TX. No snow at all. I hate this hot winter!

Looks like most of the precip is going to stay in Central and SE Texas. Just sprinkles here it looks like as I believe that snow flakes would have to fall at higher rate to overcome the warm layer near the surface.

Is the core of cold only underneath the low? Is it even plausible to think we could see some flakes? It looks like it is tracking towards SE Tx. Although i dont think we will see anythng close to a flake, ive seen this happen before......

I think the areas of yellow on the radar that is showing up as rain is snow. I think Austin could see something from this system.

For the moment is has turned back to all rain here. No reports from Porta or anyone else on the south side of the city so not sure what is happening there.
I saw the reports from Kerrville/Ingram, I grew up there so know a surprise snowfall is not unusual.

Yeah, I see. 06Z GFS has a light freeze across the eastern half of Texas on the 1st. It also has heavy snow in the Panhandle, 2-4" across D-FW and up to 8" across central Louisiana on Super Bowl Sunday. That's better. I was getting worried that it would be too hot that weekend with temps in the 40s.

You haven't seen the new Porta. He's probably outside shaking his fist at the sky and cursing every flurry he sees.
