Intensity at landfall?? Tonight's poll 09-15-03

Tonights weakening has been anticipated by the models for quite some time now.. will this trend continue, will the storm retain it's current intensity, or will she re-strengthen? What do you think?

My current forecast analysis is a borderline cat 3/4....130-135 mph....similar to Hazel and the Sept 1944 hurricane in the same area.

I would not be suprised if she strengthens when she enters the Gulf stream.

106-115 mph...maybe even weaker than that.

I will say 115 MPH at landfall. I think Isabel will recover somewhat until about 4 hours before landfall - to @ 125 MPH. Then she will weaken just prior to landfall down to 115.

Issy was a minimal hurricane and never did reach category 3 before landfall at Drum Inlet, North Carolina. The wind didn't even reach 30 mph here at Savannah Beach.
