I heard some folks at PWC HQ have been tampering with the ball. You know taking some air out to make it heavy thus harder for Lucy to yank in the cold.

Tahiti seems nice this time of year. Though with the SOI crashes may not be enough sunshine. Maldives is pleasant I hear.

I had one - got rid of it. Too bored after 1 minute on it. On the bright side, this looks like a 2-day event across Texas - next Wed/Thu. Wednesday the following week looks cold, too.

Hmmm, 12Z GFS seems to have MORE snow across TX than the 06Z:

This biggest take-away from looking at those snow maps is that Austin will get no snow once again.

Man, then the hour each morning I spend on mine must seem like an eternity. LOL. I usually average 20 miles a day...I am sure hoping for something white to come from this...

way too early to focus on precip totals right now, like someone else said, we just need the models to keep the cold in place for right now. A lot of events don't get nailed until 24-36 hours out precip wise, and we are still a week out.

The 12Z Euro is coming in cold as well with the front arriving next Tuesday. Moisture is still the wild card, but there is some phasing of the Baja storm system and the shortwave dropping SE across New Mexico Tuesday night into Wednesday.

One thing I would like to add is including the latest Euro, guidance is merging the polar and subtropical jet. This is an interesting event should it occur it would be no walk in the park if it happens. The baja low will create havoc for guidance qpf wise.

I noticed that, Euro isnt playing around! Also showing no snow for Austin i think is actually a good thing lol.

Meanwhile, I saw where Boston has had 72 inches of snow in the past 20 days. Sounds like perfect bicycle riding weather!

Per 12z Euro, Wxman57's GOA low becomes a full fledged Aleutian low pumping more ridging into Alaska (hello Ensembles!) Poised for more arctic attack.

Nothing like riding a bike surrounded by 10 feet tall piles of snow!

So the Gulf of Alaska low goes away?

While precip amounts are light for most areas, qpf at this time-frame is difficult to pinpoint. One thing is for certain, if Euro 12z were to verify, which obviously has support from GFS 12z, Texas will get very, very cold around Wednesday of next week.

You really have to ignore those gray (weatherbell) contours and even the first blue contour on the Euro snowfall totals for Texas. Their snow algorithm isn't right for our area. Euro has temps down to 19-10 in Dallas on Wed and 26-28 there Thursday. It has a low around 30 in Houston Wed and 24-25 Thu (colder than Dallas on Thu as warm advection begins before sunrise up there).

I agree that next Wednesday isn't looking nearly as pleasant as today's weather. Perhaps a high in the upper 30s in Houston?
