Todd Warren(NBC 6 Shreveport) from his afternoon Web-Cast said that the Ark-La-Tex had 3 shots at wintry precipitation next week. The first being Sunday Night into Monday.

None of the models expected moisture to be available over North Texas, but here it is. Too bad it was not here this morning. Extrapolating this into this evening NE TX could see some light rain or even a flurry if the low level temps are a bit cooler than modeled. For a few runs the models have hinted at light precip for this time period. By tonight the main trough will have moved east of us ending any thoughts of precip for a bit.

Funny stuff from EWX. See, even the models have each other baffled. This is the oddest, most perplexing Winter ever. I am so glad I am not Wxman57, South Texas Storms and every other met that does this for a living. Dang. Grey hairs all around .

Guess those light showers turned into much more for the Dallas area. Temps are in the 30s here with the weakening showers headed here.

Raining pretty good here and 37 degrees. Wonder what the record is for most rain events with temps in the 30s with no measurable winter precip in a season.

Black ice watches and warning issued for SW Louisiana, especially for bridges and overpass from 3am-9am in the morning. Guess it's going to be colder than previously expected.

Where's CYCLONE MIKE? He's been griping about no winter in Louisiana. Looks like there will be a little bit at least.

Cyclone Mike lives in Southeast Louisiana. I guess we aren't included. I am seeing 0% chance of precip but I am also seeing 0% for Lake Charles which is SW LA. Go figure.

It appears Texans aren't the only ones giving up on winter...

0z GFS-20s on Monday with zero precip

Disturbing but unsurprising trend. All the precip exits before its cold enough...

Yet again the 10 day storm shows up.

Pretty decent temperature bust here this morning. Forecasted to be a low of 30 and it's currently 24 with a heavy frost.

I continue to see a major pattern change near the end of the month in the GFS, Canadian & Euro. It's bye, bye Polar vortex and hello fast zonal flow across North America - a clear signal that the severe winter across the Midwest & Northeast will be ending, along with a return to normal or above normal temps across the Southern Plains.

I'm fairly confident that the next 10 days will be your last shot at any significant snow across Texas (excluding the higher elevations in the Panhandle, of course). To get it, you'll need a little deeper shot of cold air next Sunday/Monday.

Made it down to 27 at my place with a forecasted low of 32 though my place is typically a cold spot. Lots of frost and any water left from last nights rain was frozen.

Im ok with this. Im done with winter. Winter precip chances are near null so now im pulling for some big pacific storms to bring much much needed rain to CA. Fire season out there will be record breaking bad if they dont get some rain soon. Also, lots of snow couldnt hurt to fill those resevoirs.
