Somehow Tyler schools are open and many in the area are delayed .That is a big mistake looking at conditions just to the west.

The North Texas branch of PWC is currently experiencing heavy sleet and it is encrusting everything, the roads are becoming skating rink. Lucy (at least here) has been defeated.

Funniest thing ... my local NWS office said last night I wouldn't get to freezing but it's 32.7 degrees at my house right now with drizzle. SREF from last night looks right on track.

Be careful up there!

Our ride in this morning is going to be a lot better than our ride home tonight. IMO.

Streets are completely covered! It's a winter wonderland out there. Looks like we'll be getting another heavy band soon. I'll definitely be going "ice hiking" after my work is completed later this morning.

I'll post some photos later. Have fun and be safe everyone!

This sounds like what we got last March here. The precip is almost here so I will report what it looks like in a bit.

Yup, GFS was garbage within 24 hours....Canadian has actually been the most consistent, which is really interesting considering what it shows for Wednesday and Friday of this week!!

I agree, watch out for Wednesday morning. Our current sleet storm is impulses from the mother low, the STJ jet coming through but the actual system won't come out until Weds and models are showing signs of a trowel.

Kudos to just about every school District in the major cities in Dallas and Fort Worth for being proactive in canceling school way in advance. A lot of them way before the event started!

Ok I'll admit it ... I'm very jealous of you Metroplexers right now. Thunder sleet ... (drools).
