At the risk of drawing a rebuttal from Wxman 57 in the morning, just noticed that somebody was reporting some light snow in Athens - not sure how accurate that is.

That would be interesting. If it's true we might see a change over sooner.

That's a little more than an hour away....with some moderate to heavy precip that should move through about that time.

Anyone see that SREF doesn't have DFW going above freezing at all on Thursday and Friday? ( It might be at 32 on Thursday, I can't tell which line I'm on) If We get enough snow here and Tomorrows Temps busts, I might not have school at all this week.

6z HRRR has half a foot for most of the metroplex's four big counties (assuming ratios at 10:1 it may be a little lower but it is cold aloft so who knows)

No, I have not seen that. But I wouldn't be terribly surprised if we don't get much above freezing between now and Saturday...if the heavy snow does in fact materialize later this morning.

I've noticed that temps have been trending down every time I look at my pin-point forecast for the end of the week with 30% change of snow on Friday and high of 32 last time I looked.. Impressive week of winter weather and not forget to mention some good soaking rains too ..What more can you ask for :)

@NWSFortWorth -- 155 AM: mostly rain across the region for now, but powerful upper low moving through W TX will help transition to snow before daybreak.
