Yep. Ryan Maue posted an early March map with a nice looking purple blob right over Texas. Not sure if it can be posted here, but it is on his Twitter page.

If it's on Twitter, then it's publicly consumable. Now if it was a pay site with login restrictions, that's different.

Here is the map in question. It's 850mb temperature anomalies valid next Thursday afternoon. I prefer reds/browns over purple...

At least "March" sounds warmer than "February". This has been the worst winter in at least the last 10 years. All cold and rain (no snow). No warmth for more than a day or two at a time, and only rarely. I'm hoping next Wednesday's front will be the last big cold front of this winter...

It must be, because I agree as well! Yikes!!

Heck, I'd take a La Nina winter over this one any day. At least in Ninas there's usually several fronts of very strong magnitude and the jet buckles enough to allow the jet stream across the state fairly well south. Austin's last snow event was from a Nina-induced Arctic blast. And then, between the huge fronts, we'd have nice, warm weather. Only downside is those winters aren't good for drought-stricken areas.

I'm assuming it's because less is being forecast than yesterday's storm.

Yes... the one that's not hyped up like some big snowstorm...

I was as disappointed as anyone. But I'm not sure the storm was "hyped."

The low tracked a little further south than forecast. But looking at the rainfall in North Texas and the snowfall in East Texas, everything else was there. Except for that pesky one or two degrees above the ground that kept everything liquefied here in North Texas.

Steve McCauley even went as far as saying on his Facebook page last night that his Stat Method was wrong. But he said it would have been wrong even if the warm nose hadn't prevailed. Why? Because his snowfall accumulation predictions (which were the most aggressive of anyone in the Metroplex) were underdone. He believed that there would have been four to nine inches of snow if not for the warm nose.

So I'd say everything was there...except for one major ingredient. Alas, the difficulty of getting snow in Texas.

When I heard TV mets on the 10pm news calling for whiteout conditions and someone seeing 6 inches of snow... to me that is hype.
