A Winter Weather Advisory probably should have been issued this morning for the Hill Country when it was apparent from the models that drizzle would start this afternoon and that temps would not rebound much if at all. I mean, the models showed it early today. Not like it was a big surprise. I'm not sure how valid the WWA is for the I-35 counties as temps are pretty much above freezing and with warm air advection underway, they won't drop. Trust me on this ... it's how I lost a bet earlier this winter to wxman57.

I do see they're at 31 and below in NW Austin, Lakeway, and Dripping Springs. Otherwise I see no temps below 32 in the metro area. I really don't think they'll drop much more if at all.

Wow, this storm keeps going and going. I went back and looked at the time of my text to my wife this morning (when it started snowing). We're moving towards seven hours of snow here in D-Town.

Man that band that persisted between Denton and Wise county border has been relentless. Something there has got to have 6-8 inches but who is it?!

anyone else seeing the light radar returns starting to show up out west? oh and still getting a moderate snow here. probably somewhere between 4-5" now.

Yeah, I remember that the forecaster that wrote the discussion yesterday evening for Fort Worth NWS said that past history showed that these types of systems NEVER produce more than four inches of snow in the area.

I remember thinking hmmmmmm, they might not have wanted to make such a definitive statement like that. Especially in a week when a lot of DFW people woke up the other morning and went "Hey, where's the snow?!?"
