Local Mets here in the Falls started downplaying the event earlier. Not sure what they are basing their assessment on?

Kind of funny to me since the Dallas TV mets were definitely hyping... one even outright called for warning criteria accumulations

What exactly does the Euro show for DFW?

2-4" of "stuff" and the model has been gradually getting wetter each run. And really the 4-5+ isn't that far away. And the winds sustained 20-25mph with gusts well over 30mph.

Ooh... I'm looking forward to this wind. lol. Been a long time since I've had a windy winter storm[/quote]
I would prefer overhyped since I could handle being let down better than endangering people by not allowing people to prepare appropriately.

I agree. I'm concerned by FWD going conservative here... afraid people are gonna go to work tomorrow expecting no big deal.

People ought to be plenty concerned after what happened on Friday. I can work from home and I've already told my team that I plan on working at home Wednesday and Thursday.

I sure hope FW NWS gets these warnings out soon, this storm could get ugly for a lot of people. Sleet accumulations alone = Winter Storm Warning Criteria

Chance of precipitation near 100 percent. Wind chill readings as low as 16 to 21 in the afternoon.
Tonight Freezing rain...sleet and isolated thunderstorms in the evening...then snow likely and light sleet after midnight. Breezy. Much colder. Snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 3 inches. I'm not sure if I shouldn't be suprised that EWX has not issued a Dense Fog Advisory for right now or if I should be shocked. It's so foggy here on the southside that I can't even see more than 2 houses down from mine and can barely make out the lights from the house across the steet. The street lights have dissappeared completely, there is no light reaching the ground at this point. This is ridiculous!

This is one of those times that if I was alone outside I'd be pretty nervous and creeped out. Way too spooky.. :double:

Currently have all the lights off staring out the window scanning for freaky things to materialize out of nowhere lol.

According to NBC5 the temp doesn't get below freezing until this evening, after school and work. Very concerned about the timing of all this, just a couple hours off and it will be a serious mess late this afternoon.
