Temp has been dropping pretty fast in Lindale. 51.3 at noon and 42.8 now. We may hit freezing way before the modeled midnight time frame as the cold has not slowed its advance. That could change things pretty drastically. The freeze line is near 380 now.

That's not Memphis. Memphis is reporting 37F and moderate rain. He must be up on some mountain somewhere.

Having been born and partially raised there, don't recall any mountains in the proximity of Memphis.

But you are right - I went back and checked and he's actually 195 miles away in Mountain Home, Ark. @NWSMemphis retweeted his post as storm reports are coming in.

* WINDS...SUSTAINED NORTH WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WITH WIND GUSTS
BETWEEN 35 AND 40 MPH.

* IMPACTS...STRONG NORTH WINDS MAY RESULT IN DRIVING DIFFICULTIES
ON EAST-WEST ORIENTED ROADWAYS...ESPECIALLY FOR LIGHTWEIGHT AND

STRONG NORTH WINDS COMBINED WITH COLD TEMPERATURES WILL RESULT
IN WIND CHILL VALUES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS AND TEENS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WINDS OF AT LEAST 20 TO
30 MPH ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING
DIFFICULT...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. BOATERS SHOULD
USE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN VENTURING ONTO AREA LAKES. RESIDENTS MAY
WISH TO TAKE ACTION TO SECURE TRASH CANS...LAWN FURNITURE...AND
OTHER LIGHTWEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS THAT MAY BE BLOWN AROUND IN THE
STRONG WINDS.

That wind out there makes last week feel warm. It feels like someone is spittin' ice chips at me. Or maybe I just need proper winter clothing.

Temp plunging here from 50s at noon to low 40s now. 18Z NAM now has me in the heavy snow band tonight. Shows what looks like freezing rain around 9PM then sleet around midnight then a snow/sleet mix around 3AM ending as all snow. Over half an inch of QPF during this time frame. So .1" ice, .25" sleet and 3" snow. All in an advisory. Other models are not so aggressive with precip and the RAP and HRRR want to really dissipate the precip overnight.

What are your current favorite websites to look at computer model data?

I use to use meteostar, the psu board, and twisterdata... Any other good ones that you guys are using?
