This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Thursday or Friday is the question........

#1 Postby NCGal » Tue Sep 16, 2003 2:05 pm

I'm in Johnston County, NC and I need some advice..... Some forecasters say Izzy will be playing a roll in our weather here Thursday morning around 2AM and others have it spread out ,starting Friday. We are on well water and whenever we have the possibility of major power outages I always fill my bath tubs up with water so we can flush the commodes, just curious if I should do it Wednesday night or Thursday. Any thoughts????Thanks

I would probably fill all but one tub early thursday morning (or even wed night if it looks that the storm will hit sooner) this leaves one shower/bath open for that one last 'lets all jump in the shower' before the hurricane' and then start filling that one when the first edges of feeder bands start coming in and or wind picks up a smidgen ...it takes a while for the wind/ rain to really start coming and then that way you be prepared :)

get rid of the garlic now. everyone will smell bad enough after a couple of days. buy a case of febreeze. and you know, baby wipes really work when you dont have anything else.

Also, do you have any empty, clean huge garbage cans or Rubbermaid containers? You know, those big storage bins? You can fill those up as well.

I am also in Johnston County NC. I will fill mine when the wind starts to pick up. You know Johnston County..if the wind is more than a breeze..out goes the power and we are fogotten about until days later! LOL
