It's 500 miles away. Not that close. Close is Cat 4 Hurricane Floyd. :o Now that was close. :D

Quickscat time

Check the time on that Quickscat, dixie. The time of the image is located near the bottom-right. It says 10:04. That's GMT = 5:04AM CDT. So even if the page says it was updated at 23Z (6pm CDT) the image is over 12 hours old.
