Getting great live video from Galveston webcam at 61st Street Fishing Pier. Seems like so many of our prior storms hit at night and we never see them in action. http://www.galveston.com/seawallvideocam/

Watching it. This is a tropical storm in the formation stage and the radar, at this range, is showing more of the mid level circulation rather than the low level. It could be they aren't aligned yet.

Cool map. The wind speeds don't seem to be representative, but interesting.

It's not uncommon for land falling systems to make a loop along this portion of the Texas Coast. Carla (1961) slowed and made a loop just S of Matagorda Bay.

So far near downtown Houston things have been pretty mild. Rain off and on, nothing really heavy. No wind to speak of. Concerned about afternoon rush hour. Hope people can get home safely.

I don't think we are going to get anything jabman. I think it is all going to miss us, just a little rain.
