It was ridiculous, like weatherdude said misery misery misery. The worst thing was it was also historically warm at night too. You wake up for work/school and already by 9/10 AM it's was already 99F. Everyday stepping out the moment you open your door same feeling as when you open your oven. Literally. By late August many of us learned to appreciate a simple, refreshing 100 degree day over 105+
Still though, this is too hot we need rain again...

I do like to have summer thunderstorms (which we didn't have in 2011), just not every single day as we had earlier this spring. 2011 was nice and warm, though.
