This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I think there's already a thread concerning this from yesterday. Try the "search" feature and you should find it.

Thanks for the tip, and sorry if I missed that post . There are sooooo many and most get buried pretty quick. I'll look that post up, though.

Thanks again, Tano

What I have observed is if your dog is acting very strangely and staying inside very close to you for no apparent reason, big changes are a-coming. Same with horses and many other animals.

On the other hand, if your cat is acting very strangely for no apparent reason, just open the door and put it out

During Lili we let our little terrier out in the back yard because he hadn't been out in hours and he tried to pick his leg up to do his business but the wind kept pushing him over, it was actually really funny. We also have a lab who stayed in the kennel outside (which is protected by the house) but he howled for about 2 hours straight during the height of the storm (he hardly ever howls) and I guess that was his way of letting us know there's a hurricane out there. Also the night before was the MUGGIEST air I've ever felt in my life.

My dogs were terrified in Hurricane Irene & that was mostly rain.. about 12 hours or so before she came ashore my one female dog would not leave me alone.. she gets like that in regular thunderstorms but this was much worse.. she would also pace.. I guess they can sense it!

My dogs are starting to get spooked. The beagle wants to eat and eat; our rotador (combo lab and rotweiller) wants the kids and I in the same room.

She barks at the children if they stray too far from me. It's really quite amazing

PTracker... the lab was howling because of the drop in pressure. It hurts their ears. I have 5 big dogs and would never leave them outside in a hurricane because of the drop in pressure.
