Do you know if there is mandatory evacuation of Jacksonville (NC)? Have family there. Thanks.

Been lurking here at the forums for the past few days but thought as the storm approached I'd register.

Power and cable lines are buried in my neighorhood so I hope to be able post any news from here in Wilmington.

The State of Maryland is in a state of emergency. Alot of the school systems have said that they are closed for Thrus. and Fri., others are closed for Thurs. or closingfhours early. Batteries are a rare commody. It isn't windy or cloudy as of yet in Baltimore County...time will tell Susan

From NJ -

I'll be thinking of everyone down in the NC/VA area that will experience the direct hit from Isabel. Please stay safe and check in when you can!

According to the Jacksonville Daily news :
Residents of North Topsail and Surf City were asked to evacuate and most were complying.
Jacksonville will be under a curfew from midnight Wednesday to Friday at 6 a.m., said Mayor Elsie Smith.

No mandatory evacuation though

Rocky Mount NC here. Maybe the laptop batts will hold out.

I am kinda surprised the WC isn't here. Unfortunately, they seem to know where it is.

Raleigh here; light breezes with some gusts; an unreal red dusk; the light feeder bands since about 3 this afternoon.

I'm here in Baltimore MD too. It's a fairly pretty night, maybe a little cloudy, but very pleasant. Have the patio door open and am enjoying the cool breeze coming in off the water.

Was wondering, is there any news about Camp LeJuene? My son is a marine, stationed there, and I have not been able to get in contact with him.
