Hmm...now is not the time for the weather!!!

Something has happened in the city of Watertown...I was driving home, and I saw a huge plume of smoke, it was visible for miles away. I start thinking, what the heck happened?!? I drive down there, police and fire trucks are blocking off traffic blocks away, people are leaving their houses and running towards the scene...this has to be a five alarm at least, maybe even a helo crash from Fort Drum. I go home, turn on the local news, and what do I see? The WEATHER forecast!!!! Proof once again that our local news is not up to par... :o :(

I am surprised something like that wasn't on the news. I guess Isabel has just taken over the news this week.

I see your point, nystate - Isabel is big national
news, but, God forbid that was a chemical fire or such! Surely they would have mentioned if it
was life-threatening???

I'm not sure, but these channels are not mainstream, they are our local news stations...what got me mad was when they started talking about movies and the local high school soccer scores while this was going on! Its not even on their website...

The fire is still burning, although now it is under control. The smoke is becoming a problem, as I can smell it in my house and I'm starting to get a headache...It will be hard sleeping tonight, these fumes are just awful :x
