WPAC ACE continues to skyrocket...

2015, highest ACE on record through August 6th and through August 17th since records began in 1950...

Shatters 2nd place 2002 by a whole margin...

2015 higher than any other year to date and is nearing the yearly climatology of 294, and will eventually surpass 310 units. Currently it's now close to 290

2015 is now ahead of the climatology yearly average of 294, now it is at 295.08 and it's way ahead of any other years to date. Only 2002, 1997 and 2004 come close to this year.

Maue's site had miscalculated the ACE, as Atsani has now accumulated 31.39 units.

They did right on Goni. So with that said, the WPAC is now 301.0425 and is well now above the climatology of its basin, both yearly and to-date

Goni has 30.3625 units of ACE already and Atsani has 33.0125. Combined, they have accumulated 63.375 ACE which is a very impressive amount which is summing up to 305.08 units, ahead to the yearly climatology of 304 listed on Maue's site. For the month, the WPAC accumulated 92.38 units and is counting since the typhoons have not yet dissipated.

In perspective if they do get 70-100 ACE thats about near normal of what an entire Atlantic season racks up an average year, crazy.

Good call here, as both Atsani and Goni have breached 30 units of ACE apiece. With Goni becoming strong once again and Atsani still hanging on before extratropical transition, breaking 70 units between the two will be a piece of cake. We're almost there already.

What is the all-time record for WPAC ACE? I thought it was something close to 600 but currently I can't find any sources.

It's somewhere in the high 400s near 500 units held by 1992 and 1997. Very difficult to find WPAC ACE prior to recent years because few keep track of it.

All time record belongs to 1997 with it's 10 Cat 5's majorly contributing 594.11, a world record. Well anything in the WPAC is the world record anyways...

Second place and third place belongs to 1992 and 2004 with 2004 contributing 464. Can't find any numbers for 1992 but it's in the middle. Again it's very difficult to find ACE for this basin since only a few follows, if any, it's very long active year round seasons...

It's actually hard to keep track of this basin since every storm and season tries to outdue each other thus the hardship...

It was actually my 3rd job trying to follow everyday year round years ago but gave up...It's that active and anyone can get lost...

It will be interesting to see how close we can get to that number this year.

Is there a good link for monthly ACE dating back to 1950? The closest I could find is Maue's, but it only goes back to the 1970s and the format is in rough shape.

Thanks to the WPAC, the Northern Hemisphere ACE is the highest on record since records began in 1970 accounting for over 300. 2015 still on a record setting pace for the WPAC...

WPac is now 323.2, maybe a glitch on Maue's site. The 323.2 unit reading is already justified by Dr Klotzbach
