That is incredible that far inland!! It is a very strange experience isn't it? Now imagine clear skies above you with a huge chimney of clouds surrounding it. I've actually seen the sun come out during an eye passage. Reallly wierd after experiencing destructive winds!!! And then it all comes back again.

That is awesome, rob. I have always thought it would be very cool to have the eye of a storm pass over me. Of course, I would want a similar situation to you - a storm that had weaken enough so that I was not too worried about significant damage!

Holy cow! That's right over Pittsburgh. That's quite a bit further west than the original track, isn't it?

the center of circulation passed about an hour east of me near Pittsburgh. We had winds sustained I would guess around 25-30 with higher gusts into the 50's. We got about 2 inches of rain. Not much damage at all. We lost power a few times. Few trees down and some loose objects were blown around some. Was pretty cool. Good thing it wasn't much stronger!! Was a pretty cool experience.

Imagine what it would've been like if Isabel's center had passed over you when she was at peak intensity with that massive eye.

I'll never forget those awesome satellite pix.
