Could this mean......."SNOW?"

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sat Sep 20, 2003 7:05 am

Reading the morning NAFD, seems there's a rather strong cold front along with moisture from Marty poised to strike on Thursday and Friday of next week. I know the AFD makes mention of the fact that the air will be of tropical nature BUT.....I've seen this toooooo many times in the past, tropical moisture along with a STRONG trough = "SNOW!" "Come on Baby......show me the SNOW!" 8-)

.EXTENDED...RIDGE MAINTAINS ITS PRESENCE FOR TUESDAY WITH A
CONTINUATION OF MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES AND NEAR NORMAL TEMPS. BY
WEDNESDAY...THE RIDGE FLATTENS AND MID LEVEL MOISTURE SHOULD BEGIN
TO INCREASE FROM THE SOUTH AS THE REMNANTS OF A TROPICAL SYSTEM MOVE
CLOSER. AT THE SAME TIME THAT THIS MOISTURE ARRIVES FROM THE
SOUTH...A VIGOROUS S/W TROUGH APPROACHES FROM THE NW AND CLOSES OFF
JUST TO THE WEST OF AZ ON THURSDAY. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG
DYNAMICS...OROGRAPHIC FLOW...AND ABUNDANT MOISTURE WILL RESULT IN
SHOWERS DEVELOPING OVER MUCH OF NRN AZ ON THURSDAY. THIS PATTERN
REMAINS IN PLACE FOR FRIDAY...SLOWLY GIVING WAY BY THE WEEKEND. EVEN
THOUGH THE GFS SHOWS THAT THIS WILL BE A FAIRLY STRONG AND COLD
TROUGH...THE SWLY FETCH AND TROPICAL MOISTURE SHOULD HELP TO
MAINTAIN TEMPS NEAR OR ONLY SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL.

He reminds me of a hurricane sometimes - full of hot air and don't get in his way when he's pissed off about something!!!
