No Wilma had 882.

I will be very surprised of Patricia got stronger (pressure wise) than Wilma.

I honestly wouldn't be as it still looks to be strengthening

I'm thinking, after adjustments, the dropsonde will be around 893 or so. I expect some adjusting as it is hard to go into such an intense eye and record less than 10 kt winds.

Based on Recon, I'd say this is around 160 knots and 895 mbar.

Recon is catching Patricia at the perfect time at her peak. I think she is still intensifying. May get as low as Wilma's pressure.

179 knots is the highest 700mb flight level wind ever measured in Western Hemisphere in modern history

The previous record was set by Gilbert (173kt)

Those who stayed for the recon have witnessed history. Might not be another EPAC storm this intense for a generation or two at least.

Not a meteorologist, in fact more of an idiot than anything. You should probably check with the NHC or a local NWS office for official information.

Recon dropped and then ascended 3,000 feet to stay at 700mb pressure surface. That influences HDOB estimates usually.

Since there was no SFMR at the time of the peak FL wind, I would have to go with the 90% rule and say 160 kt, although a case could be made for 165 kt as well since 90% was a low guess earlier.

:uarrow: I certainly am happy to have stayed up for this Recon mission. Historic mission and historic storm. Well worth staying up late for. Unbelievable that Patricia just may surpass Wilma's Atlantic basin record. Just WOW!!!
