Probably a satellite artifact, not actual CDO warming.

Believable. Too rapid, and didn't seem continuous.

Eye temp is still going up on IR. Even if the CDO warms a bit, I wouldn't call a peak until that begins to come down (or until recon says so).

Just got caught up... omg. I missed out on Wilma, but I feel like I'm watching her again, in a different basin.

By the way, and I honestly feel like I can say this without exaggerating in the slightest... Look at that pressure gradient. Look at the pressure. The size of the storm. The diameter of the eye. The proximity to land.

This may be the closest analogue to 1935 that we'll ever see.

This is probably in terms of wind anywhere from 190mph to 205mph based on the new recon readings which is just out of this world crazy

It may be gusts to 205 mph that they are finding.

I don't know what to make of the 182 knt SFMR reading. It looks pretty legit to me to be honest.

hoping that one because if sustained it could be a world record for a tropical cyclone recorded. I can't believe I'm saying this garbage

That SFMR number actually makes sense to me. Maybe flight crews just can't believe what they are seeing
