NCEP Server Problems

#1 Postby wxman57 » Sun Sep 21, 2003 5:26 pm

I finally got around to reading my "WX-TALK" e-mail and found the following from yesterday or the day before. It explains the server issues at NCEP:

From: National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP)
To: NCEP Internet Services User Community

Dear User Community,

Due to Hurricane Isabel, NOAA internet connections have been saturated.
This has
affected your ability to access the following NCEP FTP and web sites:

ftpt.ncep.noaa.gov
ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.hpc.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.opc.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.mpc.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov
http://www.emc.ncep.noaa.gov

We are doing what we can to improve services, however we are currently
operating in a degraded mode, requiring us to focus on our operational
systems first.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during critical period.

Please send any comments or questions concerning this
announcement to mailto:ncep.helpdesk@noaa.gov.
