Latest HRRR showing 2-3" for tarrant county and dusting - half inch for dallas.

Honestly, may be underdoing it.

I would enjoy the 2 inches of snow that the HRRR has on the Denton county line.

We're grasping at straws keeping hopes alive! As long as the low continues to plow east the dream is still a possibility. We're not greedy people, a dusting works. Heck just to even see it fall is enough. DFW needs the guaranty that there has never been a snowless winter (at least Trace) since records began here.

In other news, this storm has been a complete bust for Kansas. After blizzard warnings, hardly a flake fell up there. Leading the way to the failed forecast around Dodge City after spewing out a foot + there, the ECMWF

Are the short term models the best models to be looking at at this point?

:uarrow:

The snow out in Junction to San Angelo, is that going to be moving To the NE of Austin or is there a chance that moves east into the I-35 corridor near Austin?

I don't understand how the temperature of jollyville is 39f with snow falling how does that work? does that give credibility to what the models are saying in terms of a change over for DFW?

:uarrow: The upper air aloft might be much colder there than in the Metroplex.

It is colder above their heads as the cold core ULL is approaching. Remember for snow it is more important what happens above your head vs on the ground. 32F just helps it stick it could be vice versa and rain. You can see the bulging 0C (32F) from about 5 thousand feet layer in central Texas associated near the center of the 500mb low.

If the low continues eastward it could, however the models indicate this is around the time the low starts moving NE. If that does then that area will move NE with it, dreaded dry slot comes in.

So ideally for the metroplex we would want an eastward motion for a while longer then a Ne turn to avoid being dry slotted?
