Champ is sitting in the driveway. Cold. And still recovering from the hailstorm which occurred around 5:40 p.m. Ground was covered in pea- to marble-sized hail. Didn't last long but while it did, it was impressive.
No snowflakes or sleet pellets yet here at the PWC. Sorry. Not expecting anything either.

Well it was cold, and technically it is frozen. Beggars can't be choosers right?

Ha ha! Yep. That's right. I could honestly say that I had accumulating frozen precipitation on the ground today.

Could it split into to 2 LPs? One diving for the coast and one ejecting NE? It looks like its behaving rather interestingly.....just my two shillingsworth....
I was thinking the same thing. It appears to be digging, if you watch the radar in motion.
The GFS runs over the last couple of days showed that upper low digging and moving right across Austin and central Texas. Guess it was spot on in that regard.

Wichita Falls got a dusting of sleet then it transitioned to a freezing rain. Sitting at 32 right now. Still a lot of standing water from the cold rains earlier. When temps fall further we may have a bit of chaos from icing.

The moisture over the Hill Country seems to be rapidly dissipating.

There's only a few light returns that I'm seeing but for the most part it's drying out across the Hill Country.

Looks like the core of the storm is drying out, especially the eastern part, which is the most likely part to move over the Metro, the Western Metroplex may still be in good shape. Unless we see a drastic drop in the upper levels before this current band moves out.

81 mph(non thunderstorm) wind recorded in Hobart, OK.
Stephenville, tx reporting thundersnow.
EDIT : We are just a few hours out now and HRRR still showing some pretty significant snowfall for denton/tarrant/johnson counties... I don't think you can take it for gospel, but definitely might be on to something imo, as it as nailed everything thus far.

the hi-res models are really nailing the western half of the metro... the HRRR even has 1-2" way over here in the eastern metro!
