Quick Update from Norfolk!

#1 Postby hawksnestguy » Sun Sep 21, 2003 8:56 am

Hey guys--believe it or not, some of us still don't have power! Unfortunately, it seems about 95% of my neighborhood has power except for my street--so I am at my brother's house for the moment but it's only a matter of time.

Its been pretty wacky here the last few days as everything has no power but its slowly coming back--luckily Golden Corral was running on a generator so I could get a good breakfast *wink wink*

I got some pretty good pictures from my neighborhood and theres more probably on pilotonline.com and the local tv sites and once everything comes back up at my house, I'll hook you guys up!

See ya later!

Glad to hear things are well down that way...I am in Lynchburg and it was pretty much just rain event here. I have a good friend in Richmond(Chesterfield Co acutually)and his power was out as of yesterday.

Love the breakfast buffet at GC!

I hear that! ECPI is a tech school right on the border of Norfolk/VB off of I-264. We're right next to radio station studios so you know they got power!

76 million dollars huh.. Sounds like Norfolk got pretty roughed up... Isabel must have given her evil wrath to some of you guys.. As long as everyone's ok.. that's what's important..

Yup! Just wait till you add that to VB, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Williamsburg--maybe even the whole state of VA!

Nearly 100 million in Norfolk along, 300 million in Hatteras alone, it looks like damage will be around 2-3 billion when everything is added up. :o

2 or 3 Billion! I'm kinda slow in my history but doesn't that number was less to what Andrew and Hugo did?

Hi Hawksnestguy,I think Andrew did about 30 billion and Hugo did 7-10 Billion, Isabel's damage toll will be nowhere near that.

.....and of course, the cost of living has gone up since 1989 and 1992.
