Lively severe-warned band on top of me. Heavy sheets of rain, 40-50 MPH gusts, tons of lightning.

Took that about 15-20 minutes before it arrived

What a wonderful weekend east central FL had this past weekend. I had all the windows open for the entire time thanks to the great NE refreshing winds off the Atlantic Ocean and lower dewpoints. I have not remember turning off the A/C in the middle of April in a long time.

I live in SW Florida east of 75 in Lehigh Acres. East part of Fort Myers. It has been beautiful and mostly dry. I would love some rain.

It has been cooler than what feels like should be normal in April. I wonder if Summer will be slightly cooler and wetter than normal. Anyone know how El Niño could effect our Summer weather in southern Florida?

Don't think will be in an El NIno this summer. Most likely neutral and possibly La Nina heading id to Fall. I have no clue what the summer weather will be but I'm sure it will be hot and humid.

We're in the "frog in the pot" mode as the heat and humidity slowly but surely crank up...the CPC outlooks show above normal temps and those normals are quickly moving up.

The weather here in South Florida today and even yesterday is acting very much like a summer-time pattern with the East Coast and West Coast Sea Breezes producing showers and a few storms along both coasts. Within the next few days this pattern should change and drier air should work in with High Pressure building in for about the next week or so. All I have to say is any rain we get is welcomed because it has been just plain DRY out there for the past several moths now since about early-mid February. That short lived El Niño pattern from January went away very fast!

Starting to get rather dry out there as temps gradually get hotter and hotter, pretty typical for this time of year. Looks like possibly lower than normal temps this coming weekend due to an anomalously strong low that looks to form over the Northeast / mid-Atlantic. Either way we need some rain here across South Florida so looking forward to the rainy season starting which typically starts third week in May here.

Looks like we're destined for a 10 degree drop in highs/lows when we compare weekend temps to mid/lateweek forecasts...and lower dewpoints too. likely some of the last window opening night/morning air until fall...at least here in the tampa bay area.

Hopefully the rainy season kicks in sooner rather than later. Either way I feel the focus of the afternoon t-storm activity will once again be on the West Coast of FL due to strong East Coast ridging.

Got a little thunder shower finally here in Hollywood. I see some good storms south and north of here along the east coast. Nothing really wide spread. Hoping for more wide spread storms tomorrow. Grass is getting brown and my car needs a wash.

Looks like the rain is weakening as it crosses the state due to lack of instability thanks to the persistent scloud cover so far today,so the threat of sever weather seems to be slim if any at all.

I see SE FL got the much needed rain, this is a pattern that we only see during an El Niño year, so in another words a La Niña or neutral pattern has not set in yet.
I will not be surprised if the the summer wet season starts early this year.

It's been raining all day here at FIU, save for about an hour break around 5 PM. Lots of good rainfall today.

Thanks to an deepening upper level trough across the Eastern CONUS, we have been given a very nice reprieve from the heat and humidity now through Saturday. Highs will only reach the mid-upper 70s today and tomorrow here in Jax area and lows will dip into mid-upper 40s across interior North Florida, both Friday and Saturday mornings. I will take this weather in early May for sure!! Everyone enjoy this 2-day reprieve from the heat and humidity. The upper level trough lifts out and away late Saturday and we will back to near 90 degrees on Mother's Day.
