Good Morning Pot Belly Buddies! Tis but a fine morning here in the mountains, the smell of fall is in the air. I just threw a piece of Alligator Juniper on the fire, can ya smell it? There's NUTHIN' that can compare to smell of cedar burning in the stove!

Looks like the Mary Moisture is staying well to the south, just as well, the Run To The Pines Car Show, BTW.....it's one of the wests LARGEST Classic Car Shows, is one day away! It's the "LAST" festival of the season for the mountain, "Thank God"......this has been the BUSIEST summer EVER on the mountain, sales tax revenue for Pinetop Lakeside so far this year.....WELL over 3.8 MILLION $.......BUT, it's TIME to get our mountain top back before the skiers hit!

ANYWAYS, sorry for the rant, I know, I know.....our business is not directly affected by the tourists however, we do benefit from the *trickle down effect*.....it's just GEESH, I'd like to drive around town and not get stuck behind some lookey lou driving .10 MPH "LOL!"

Shut up Dennis! "LOL!" Not much else going on, glad to see everyone gathering around the PBS and a huge welcome to our new Pot Belly buddy Deenac813!

Good Morning All,

It's a brisk morning here in the Burgh. Gee that air smells terrific and we're having some really beautiful sunrises. Nothing starts my day better than a great cup of coffee and a beautiful sunrise - a good hair day doesn't hurt either!!!

Well I was up late last night. Breeze, Mary, Steph, how did you guys do with your homework?? Yes Ed, I finished all the work you gave me. Thanks for the jawbreakers, I needed them. Hey, I know nothing about civil engineering. Is it alot like steel sales?????

Welcome to the stove Deen. Enjoy the friendship of this warm place.

Dennis, that wood smells so good. I think I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee and brew a nice pot of Earl Grey for all to enjoy.

Have a great day my friends

Ahhhhh, finally some warmth!!!!!

Think it's time to stay by the PBS for the year! It was fun on the porch, but I'm just glad to be back here! Now where is my Krispy Kreme?? (The ones that are apple filled with cinnamon- YUM!! Not that I eat things like that anymore....

It is a cloudy and breezy day here in my neck o' the woods! I may catch a stray shower here and there, but who knows? Good day to just kick back and enjoy the change of seasons (IT'S FINALLY FALL!!) and I intend to do just that! Save my seat! :D

Happy Fall y'all.
We've had our windows open for the last couple weeks, enjoying the slightly cooler temps, but I tell ya, I am ready for a more drastic temp. drop. We're averaging 87 highs and 66 lows...still a bit warm. We took a trip to the Ouachita mountain range in Arkansas last week, in search of cooler wx, but had to cut it short by 8 days, bc our new puppy got very sick. We had just gotten him from the pound before our trip, took him to the vet where he got a clean bill of health check, so we thought he was ready for a vacation in the mountains. He got sick day number 2 of camping, so severe we took him to a vet there on day number 3, who told us he needed hospitalized immediatly. So, we packed up the camper and headed home. Puppy was thought to have Parvovirus, and treated for such, but after 48 hrs of hospitalization, our vet sent him home feeling that it may have just been some *rocks* our puppy ate by the lake. So....our newest fmily member, Maxwell the blue merle Australian Shepard is all full of his puppy charms again, and weaving himself deeper and deeper into our hearts each new day. We're going to reschedule our vacation again in October, which will be nice, bc the leaves will be showing color and its sure to be cooler!

So, thats whats been going on here with us. The major house renovations have been completed and we're taking a break from the next round.

School is going well with the kids, and we're making a decision to enroll them in public school next year for Middle School, or to keep homeschooling them.

Have a great rest of the week, fellow "Stovers" :).

Boy this warmth is so very nice and familiar - just like old times.

Hi, all. Just wandered down for a bit - thought I'd stop and say hello. If there are any takers, I've brought some Cinnamon Chocolate Coffee along with me - I just dropped the recipe off at the Storm2K kitchen in case you decide you like it.

Hope everyone had a wonderful day - tomorrow is my Friday and I am sooo looking forward to it coming and going so I can enjoy another couple of days off.

Thanks for the Cinnamon Chocolate coffee,
janswizard! That surely hit the spot! I was
just sitting here in the rocking chair, enjoying
the cedar smell, when Crouton (the PBS's
michevious pet pot-belly pig) ran right past
my feet and gobbled up the rest of the
snickerdoodles! LOL, whadda 'ya say?

Homework, Karan? You mean, drawing the
same straight line, then, erasing it, fifty
times or so, until I drifted off to sleep? LOL!
Coriolis better come up with something more
than engineering if he needs MY help! ;)

Good to see you, furluv! I'm so glad to hear
that the new puppy is fit, again! I hope that
the problem has completely resolved.

Everyone have a great evening - and, Dennis -
you remember that old Ronnie Milsap song about
"Old Folks"? LOL, don't you run over any of them
out there, now! ;) C-ya'll later!

Whew, the sun is going down around my part, and the temp. is gonna drop and quick! Any chance anyone will be willing to share some hot chocolate, and maybe make some Pot Belly Smores or something?

I will be reading through the happenings here at the Pot Belly Stove... but will probably not have much to add to the discussion. :D

Good afternoon all,

Ok Shannon, warm apple cider with a cinnamon stick just for you and a big mug for Stormcrazy too.

Cinnamon Chocolate Coffee sounds terrific. Thanks Janswizard.

Hey Furry, how's the cookbook coming?? I'll be excited to read it.

Hey Stormcrazy, can you tell I haven't had lunch yet??? I can almost taste those smores.

Hey Coldfront are you starting to get some fall color up there yet? I've never been up to your neck of the woods and I think fall is the perfect time.

Well you guys in the Northeastern portion of the United States are pretty much garanteed a mild winter. I bought an AWD Subaru last night.

I'll put on a fresh pot of coffee, brew some Earl Grey and sit back and relax awhile

Take care

Well, Karan, Smores it is!!!

Thanks for all the hot chocolate and cider....can I say again that I LOVE this time of year!!

It's a chilly one here today....62° with a sunny sky, don't think we'll get any higher, and breezy too! But a fabulous day!!

This time of year I go crazy with my camera!! I already have 2 full rolls of film that need to be developed, and another roll just went in the camera! It is so pretty, I can't help but want to capture it all! I think I am going to do 4 big collages, one for each season!! It is a neat project to work on on the cold and chilly days!

Well, I think I am gonna stop hogging the Smores, or my hips will hate me! Catch y'all later, save me a warm seat, it'll be cool tonight!

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love the crispness in the air and the urge to be outdoors as much as possible! This was the perfect time to get a new puppy to be outdoors with, discovering the beginings of what fall will bring.

Though its still iced tea temps here, I know that my hot cocoa days are right around the corner...enjoy your warm drinks and treats and save some for me, I'll be joining you in the fall ritual soon...

Ya'll have a good night!

Karan, I moved from southeastern Massachusetts in June 2000, I am located in central Florida. :)

It has been in the mid 70's the last few days across southern New England.

The temperatures here in central Florida just about reached 90 degrees, briefly. Showers and thunderstorms developed rapidly during the afternoon. A few hours later, actually after midnight there was some rare "after midnight rain; thunder in the distance." Nighttime rain/(thunderstorms) are not common across the Sunshine State. There needs to be an organized weather system to bring rain overnight to the state.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone! :D
