We said that about the Bahamas, the Gulf, and now the N Atlantic... at this point it might find better conditions in the Arctic Circle.

Center is moving out from underneath on the northern side of convection.... or at least an eddy.

In spite of the bad conditions and current presentation, I still think it will make it to tropical storm status before it hits Florida

I am at the point where I believe nothing will form in the western Atlantic that has not already formed strongly in the east/central Atlantic prior.

Though it has somewhat "waned", there is still heavy convection near the center (or where it might be).

If it moves under that anti-cyclone, it will remind me of Charlie which had an extreme anti-cyclone above it.

"RIP TD9" - Storm2k posters. At least that's how it seems (this hour). Personally, I think it looks fine for a TD. I have seen worse looking Tropical Storms as well. There's 2-3 days for TD9 to organize and strengthen.... so lets be patient.

May be more like Gabrielle in that it could be intensifying rapidly at landfall, instead of falling apart

It looks more powerful than the one it had when it passed through the East Caribbean.

Let's not.

I still hate that storm. Talk about scaring the carp out of me.

Right now 5-8"+ of rain is bad enough so we do not need an intensifying storm at landfall. The worst case scenario for those of us near the coast is a slow moving intensifying storm dropping even more rain than initial forecasts given thus far. Fast moving and weakening would be best.

Not trying to scare just making an observation.

This thing has traveled across the entire Atlantic in late August, and has now made it's way into the GOM and look at it. It's still an absolute mess. The Atlantic sure has changed a lot the last few years. :double:

Lower pressure on this pass (1006.3) and not at center yet - weird
