Okay
I don't see how this does not go more west than the NHC cone.

It's getting the look now of a tropical storm - convection has now expanded over the center - Should see slow steady strenghtening from this point forward.

Re: ATL: NINE - Tropical Depression - Discussion
I think TD-9 will finally get upgraded to Tropical Storm later today. Also looks like the depression has taken a NW turn based on visible satellite loop this morning.....MGC

Looks good this morning. Been looking at some shear chart and it seemed that the anti-cyclone drifted SW into Mexico but the other shear maps are down, so I don't know for sure. Can anyone confirm that?

Given current trends and feedback. I doubt it gets to 87.6W 0er the current track. I would actually adjust the track a bit east

I am sure that the same areas in the Tampa Bay area that saw tidal floodings during TS Colin will most likely see flooding again as most of the strongest winds will be to the east and south of the LLC.

I can't see (NW movement) that yet based on the limited number of visible frames available so far this morning.

Re: ATL: NINE - Tropical Depression - Discussion
Good morning all!! The cyclone looks pretty good right now, as you.all have alluded to already, convection really expanding towards the northwest at this time. I have to think we likely will see upgrade ro TS by this afternoon, but I think it is already there to be honest.
Yeah it looks to be a Cedar Key to Jax runner on the ptojected track . Thursday will be the day likely here with the greatest effects from the cyclone. I will be keeping you all informed here, along with Jaxgator in this area of course during this event. I hope this will be like Colin was when it came through here, which was aa fast mover and a weak TS with no.really no severe impacts, except for heavy rain.

Re: ATL: NINE - Tropical Depression - Discussion
Welcome back NorthJaxPro,
I remember Colin being my first storm since moving here and it was windy and rainy for sure. Lights never went out which was good. However, I feel and see this storm is a little bit bigger and stronger. Am I correct in assuming we will have a few more effects this time and could this storm get to Cat 1 before landfall? Thanks as always!!
