Looks like a little bit of convection starting on the north side of circ so far that has not happened lets see if it survives ..

I was just going to post something about the west movement. So what's the deal with that?

could be a little stronger ridging, could be just the center being pulled around by the convective bursts... have to wait and see.

Its just a 1005 mb depression but some of the models have it making landfall as soon as 48 hours.
Warnings seem to raise more attention when the public hears about a named storm so maybe they will cherry pick some winds out of a thunderstorm and upgrade now?

This pass will take it through the current convection.. best chance for any TS winds.

Hopefully the plane could sample other parts of the storm.

I think it should be noted somewhere at least that the convection for this system (NINE) is now larger in terms of land area than Gaston...

Not impressed with this burst. Looks pretty on IR, but on visible, looks like a lot of cirrus. The low level winds do not look to be the most favorable either. The inflow is not going into the center. it's focused farther south

Looks like IMHO the second outflow channel will set up shortly.

Recon heading back towards the center. Don't know why it's not going to the other parts of the storm (where maybe TS winds could be in the eastern quad).

When is the last time they even found a center? Don't recall a VDM in over a day.

They have sent 2, just on the current flight alone.
