Looking at the CIMSS maps the 500 vort is still not aligned with the 700 or 850. It has it off to the SE and elongated. This continues to be the story with this thing.

If they recognize that ship report we should have Tropical Storm Hermine. Is that 35 kt report inside or outside of the deepest convection?

Wouldn't be surprised if they don't update by 2 am. Heck, with the way things are going 11 pm would even be sufficient but I doubt that without Recon out.

I am sure no meterologist but aren't you giving some of these troughs and ridges (umteen miles away) a lot of
credit for moving these storms around?

I don't think this thing is updated until 24 hours from now, based on its struggles.

Yeah but it looks like currently its struggles are becoming minimal, whether it sustains it , is completely up in the air lol.

If those are 2 centers rotating around each other, one looks like its drifting wsw, other n.e. Splitting?
OR its a Hybrid duel center storm. Possible they join - hard to tell

Imagery goes show a big blow up to the south with the mid level center sneaking under that blow up. Another blow up separated to the north perhaps beginning to feel the effects of the suction (trough) from the north.
