It was on the update that they post. Where they tell the winds, direction, etc. It was in print.

It looks like the 500mb vorticity is a lot closer to the 700 and 850mb vorticity than it has been...still a little stretched east to west, but its just about stacked

recon indicated that the turn has not occurred
Curious has to why they would say that.
Because this hurricane and yes I said hurricane is going straight to Pensacola and the fact the cone has been to the Bigbend area for days and how they will explain it is why we are getting less then honest observations

...this isn't anything close to a hurricane, friend. Also, less than honest observations? Why on earth would the NHC lie about that?

I'm no expert, everything I say should be taken with a large amount of salt. I could easily be very, very wrong.

Can you explain yourself here? This seems like nonsense to me.

I have enjoyed the Weathe Channel rushing a tropical update on 3 storms in under 3 seconds. Quite special and informative!

If someone lives in the cone and is worried about TD9's future, stick with the NHC web site - media tend to get confused and even sometimes overstate or misinform, for the sake of keeping their audience. On the other hand, the NHC's job is to keep the public informed, not entertained.

Speaking of which, anyone know the last time three storms had TS or Hurricane Watches or Warnings out at the same time for the United States?

At this point from all the reading I have been doing the numbers just don't add up at this time. I am not saying it won't hit Florida but from what I have been reading it has not even made the North or the North East turn yet.

I completely respect the NHC's assessment. However, what if you live outside the cone, further west in the FL panhandle? Should there be any reason for concern, considering the unpredictability of this storm?

Imagery goes show a big blow up to the south with the mid level center sneaking under that blow up. Another blow up separated to the north perhaps beginning to feel the effects of the suction (trough) from the north.
I can't officially verify this. But my girlfriend lives in Chemuyil, Mexico and I'm on Skype with her right now, and she says the skies are lit up with lightning and rain has begun to fall. Must be that southern convective complex that has really blown up in the last two hours.
Absent visibility channel, the COC seems apparent to me on Rainbow, and it looks to be farther south than the last official coordinates. Just my opinion, not fact.

After reading all the info on this website seems a little odd.

I think you might have hit information overload. I'd hit the reset button. There's a growing depression out in the gulf, we have some advisories, and (for now) it isn't going anywhere quickly. If the NHC says get ready, get ready. Otherwise, stay informed but not overloaded. Nothing is that far off the models right now.

I know it has trended west but still curious what exactly will be happening around the bay area, I'm in Pinellas County and the NWS has been very conservative on saying much about the real impacts for the area.

So should I believe the NHC and the pro mets on this board or the guy with a handful of posts on S2K? Hmm...
Seems like the model of choice for some folks is XTRP.
