Hell by the time they make it out there I would say it's possible but I know nhc would never let that happen.

Doesn't take much to get a 37kt gust over the open ocean from a passing thunderstorm.

Everyone take a deep breath. This is not a 50kt storm. It still needs to organize further. It has 30 to 40 KT winds right now.

For folks in Pinellas county there is additional torrential rain approaching from the south. this may aggravate existing flooding or cause earlier flooding that had receded to redevelop.. radar and satellite is showing a lot more activity forming. the flood threat is very real and developing earlier than many would have expected.

This is storm is an excellent example of how satellite images can at times be deceiving. It is reminding of (I believe) pre-Claudette 2003 way back in the first year of s2k. That storm looked amazing before it was named but had very little lower level organization.

I've already been out and about today and have experienced flooding issues. Worried about this next band coming in along with everything forming around it..not looking good as far as rainfall goes..

They may eventually be classified as a TS today but right now it doesn't look as impressive as some think. Though I still believe this has a
good chance to be more than just a TD or TS before landfall. IMO

it seems some areas are going to exceed that 8-12" estimate. some good lightning in that band too so you should be hearing thunder in St Pete soon.

So far not yet but after that band gets through I'm gonna head out to lunch *hopefully* so if anything gets bad I'll post the pics.

Note that the distance between their 0hr and 9hr points is 97 miles. That would equate to an average speed of 10.8 kts. That may be a little fast, but it will start accelerating NNE-NE in a week or two...

Is there another TD forming off the coast of SC? I know off topic, but it looks like it.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's still not a duck if it's actually a deranged chicken.
