This next band moving towards Tampa Bay looks to be when the real Tropical Storm conditions will start, stronger winds and looks to be training way more than the last band that moved quickly to the east.

Where is everyone getting their up-to-the-minute pressure and wind speed readings from? I'm using a couple different products to watch from afar and some of them have overlays with the info, it's just usually hard to read and/or behind by about 30 mins to an hour.

I'll put my chips on a Cat 2 making landfall at approximately 11:15 CST/12:15 EST.

That was the flight winds. The first post seemed to implied the surface winds.

I wouldn't doubt if the next nasty squall approaching west central FL has hurricane force winds in gusts.

Right as I thought about getting arrogant and posting that I was unimpressed with this squall, the rain and wind kicked up and all hell broke loose. Tornado warning now.

That'll teach me.

unless it was a dropsonde in the eyewall there is no way to get a "surface wind"

Pretty wild I think the NOAA,aircraft just flew overhead out of Tampa heading northwest. What other plane would be flying now? Can anyone confirm that? I remember in Gabrielle I could hear the hurricane hunters flying around low off the beaches.

It's going to be a bumpy night. Should start in an hour for us. I'll be here.

Heads Up.... band of some wicked cells have raced inland and approaching Orlando. Just issued a Tornado Warning here till 9:00pm. You guys in N.E. Fla. will likely start seeing lines migrating over you all in the next 30 min
