Yep, I don't know if you saw my post earlier but the winds have increased a lot here (and whistling) and half of the Vilano Beach Bridge's lights are out.

I had a wind gust in a squall of 33 mph just about 30 minutes ago. NWS Jax put out a tornado warrning up near Brunswick just in the past half hour as well.

I'm sitting with my two flatmates (we are all students), and they keep asking me when the storm is going to kick in for us. I let them know about the threat a week ago.

That said, looking at the radar, it should be kicking into high gear for Jacksonville soon, and it won't let up until sunrise.

Yes I agree. The rain and winds will come on in full force here in Jax and NE Florida, especially after 3 a.m.

Same here. They're well informed and not caught by surprise. It should get really nasty through the next few hours. Debris from my Grandparents tallest Palm Tree has fallen on their deck. It's getting really windy and loud here.

This has been one of the worse executions by The Weather Channel in terms of in-field coverage. Can't even get Tallahassee on the big screen for more than 5 seconds while they are seeing some of the most extreme winds.

They are extremely rusty. Have not had to do this is quite a while.

Citrus county is under that big band and it's about to hit Hernando now. Pasco and northern Pinellas it's getting closer and finally seems to be making some headway toward land. this could really deliver some nasty weather.

Driving home tonight you could have sworn I was a drunk driver by the swerving due to the wind haha. Curious how high of wind gusts we can get to.

Upon further review, I think that there is something suspect about that rain gauge that measured 2". I've since had a 2nd period of heavy rain and a second measurement is not as high being that it is at only about 1.5" as of 1:15 AM EDT. When considering other reports for the area as well as radar estimates from the JAX radar, I'm going to go with 1.5" for the rain as of 1:15 AM.

Power finally gave out in SW Gainesville. Been under this training feeder band for a while; getting pretty good sustained TS winds.

Eyewall moved over us here in Tallahassee with some hellacious winds. I lost a tree in my yard that narrowly missed my screened in pool. Power is out again, this time for good I imagine. Reporting 87,000 without power here and could be days before it's all restored.
