Re: ex-92L still hanging on
92L has been pegged to migrate west by NAM models for days. It's been a persistent entity for a while. I'm not totally sure the main energy didn't dive into Mexico a couple days ago but there was still wave energy and the trough that's been in the Central GoM. I wouldn't be surprised if it did something classifiable between now and it's end any more than if it just petered out. I think general low pressure piles up in the west Gulf regardless of whether or not anything gets going.

I guess no one is interested that this looks to be a tropical depression today? Lol.

Re: ex-92L still hanging on
2:00 update keeps it at 10%. No time before land:
1. An elongated area of low pressure is centered over the northwestern
Gulf of Mexico near the Upper Texas coast. The associated shower
and thunderstorm activity shows some signs of organization.
However, surface observations in the area show no indication that a
tropical cyclone is forming. Any additional development of this
system should be slow to occur before it moves inland over
southeastern Texas by tonight.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent

I'm aware of the update. Lol. The NHC said something along these lines with Julia as well when it was obvious that she was a tropical cyclone over Florida. The area of strongest low level spin was basically inland this morning. It is well over water now as it seems the strong convection has either pulled it back east or it was nudged that way by steering.

That's what I hear. I'm sitting in my office where it's 73 degrees (WITH the heat on and 41% humidity). But I talked with my parents as well as people who have actually left my building and they are all talking about the miserable humidity outside.

I feel a little gypped!!

I'm close to Houston. The clouds have that tropical look but that's about it.

I never understood what the NHC was tracking in reference to 92L and claim made landfall in Texas.

If you speed up the satellite you can see a spin at what level I don't know but looks to be heading north east toward Louisiana..
